The Whisky Line - Keith & Dufftown Railway

The region where I live, Moray, is associated with whisky for most people, and it is the "charm" of this drink that attracts them to the numerous distilleries here. However, in the summer, there are many other attractions, and one of the most outstanding is the train journey, which enchants the hearts of both tourists and locals: the picturesque route from Dufftown to Keith.

Many associate train travel in Scotland only with the iconic Harry Potter train. And rightly so, because it is one of the iconic tourist attractions here. However, those of you who visit Moray will certainly not be disappointed when you decide to ride the narrow gauge railway and experience the charm of the 1930s and 1940s, enhanced by stunning views and a touch of luxury.

Salt and Fire-The Art of Vegan Cuisine: A Journey to Flavors and Compassion

In a world increasingly aware of the impact of our food choices, vegan cuisine is rapidly gaining popularity. Veganism is not just a trend; it is a delightful and compassionate way of living that benefits our health, the environment and animal welfare. Whether you are a seasoned vegan, a curious foodie or someone considering a diet change, vegan cuisine offers something extraordinary.

Vegan cuisine is a vibrant palette of flavours, colours, and textures. The diversity is fascinating, from spicy curries to creamy pasta dishes, decadent desserts, and refreshing salads. Ingredients like fresh herbs, spices, nuts, seeds, and various plant-based proteins make vegan cuisine anything but boring.

Pony land

When you decide to leave a big city and move on to a quiet place, you can experience that kind of view every day. The crisp air, the sound of birds chirping, and the sight of rolling hills become your daily companions. Golf and horse riding are popular forms of entertainment in Scottish interiors, adding a touch of adventure to your serene surroundings.

As I encountered these adorable ponies near the Findochtys' castle ruins, a wave of nostalgia swept over me. I found myself longing for the carefree days of my childhood, wishing I could relive those moments with one of these charming creatures.

How to kill time at the airport.

When we have to wait for a transfer at the airport, most of us try to fill the time somehow. Some people read books, others nap, and others visit stores hoping to find something special there. I am one of those who likes visiting stores. However, I don't see those selling branded clothes or cosmetics. I always direct my steps to those with local food.

That's what I did during my last stop in Brussels.

Look what treasures I found there.

Saint Mary & Saint Finnan Church

This small, charming church is on the trail connecting Glenfinnan station and Glenfinnan Viaduct. It is really charming and located in a beautiful place.

Church has an exciting story, but I won't write about it because all the information is available online. I'm just sharing a photo with you. It looks beautiful on a beautiful sunny day with greenery in full bloom.

My blog on YouTube

I have been living in Scotland since 2014. I love the scenery and the Scottish lifestyle. I settled down in Moray, where there are many world-famous distilleries. However, I am not a whisky lover, so I visit various exciting places. You can also see them on my blog - the same title as my YouTube channel MOJA mala Szkocja.

Wild strawberries

Wild strawberries - the summer taste of my childhood. There were a lot of them in my grandmother's garden.

When I bought two bushes last year, my friend said, 'No way, no chance you're going to plant them in Scotland!'

"we'll see," I replied.

As you can see, I was successful! They are so sweet that I can eat them until the end of October!

Polish dumplings called pierogi.

I have made traditional Polish dumplings called pierogi. Dumplings are very popular in Poland, using an ancient recipe. It is said that they came to my country from China, where dumplings are prepared with cabbage, called jiaozi. In Poland, dumplings are an everyday food prepared for the day's main meal.  For special events such as on Christmas Eve, we make them with sour cabbage and wild mushrooms. Modern Polish cuisine they are made with different fillings, some very oriental and exotic.

Dores Beach ducks.

A few weeks ago, I visited Loch Ness. I did not find the Nessie monster, but I saw pretty ducks. They behaved a wee rudely and did not get scared, a bit like home pets. They kept me company when I  was drinking coffee…

These are a special duck. I met them in Urquhart Castle, on the shores of Loch Ness.

Unfortunately, I cannot take them at home, but as a consolation, I found some equally charming in the store located in the Customer Centre....

On a pig farm.

It is a part of life in the Countryside. You can see that kind of view too:-)
I made those pictures on a pig farm near Lhanbryde in Moray. (of course, in Scotland)
